A woman was attacked in Clydebank in broad daylight, say police.

The incident took place in the Robert Burns Avenue area at around 4.15pm on Friday (April 26).

Officers said the 41-year-old had been walking next to a grass area near Kirkoswald Drive when a man and a woman assaulted her.

She later attended hospital for treatment.

Police have now launched an appeal to trace those responsible for the attack.

The man is described as white, aged early 20s, of medium build with light brown hair.

He was wearing light-coloured clothing.

The woman is described as white, aged early 40s, of medium build with dark hair. 

She was wearing blue jeans. 

The duo made off in the direction of Jean Armour Drive following the incident.

Detective Sergeant Stuart Lindsay said: “Our investigation to trace those responsible is ongoing and we are asking anyone in the area at the time who may have seen what happened to get in touch.

“In addition, if you have private CCTV or dash-cam footage that could help our enquiries then please come forward.”
